So, who has seen the film? Did you like it or not?

I saw the film and fell in love with it. Others say it was really bad (How dare you?! XD) And my brother says the singing is terrible, but my brother is weird =P But then again...so am I o.o;;

So yeah, fire away and talk about Sweeney Todd!

Yerr I love Sweeny Todd. . and being directed by Tim Burton and featuring Johnny Depp had no influence whatsoever*COUGH* Well yerr obv it did xD haha, cause Tim Burton is a great directer and Johnny Depp is amaazin obv =)
But yerr I loved this film Catchy songs aswell. The kid who wore the blonde wig came from my town =O
And ahh I know, i can't believe the people who don't like it!!! Tho i think its somewhat casuse some people can't hack musicals xP Lolz/ But it adds more to the atmosphere =) And the singin wasn't actually that bad. So they can be quiet =P

Ohh and I got bored today and decided to watch one of my films. . so I watched Sweeney Todd Yayz!

I really don't see why Sweeney Todd is classified as a horror film xD I was lolling whenever someones throat was slit D:
I didn't like the music, at all. It kind of killed the scary for me D:
It could have been a much better film if it hadn't have been a musical.. Still, Johnny is hot either way x3

I got the film on DVD for Christmas, seeing as that my Mum knows that I love Tim Burton, but I've been too busy to watch it as of yet. I'll probably watch it tonight, I guess.

Heh, well I've loved all of Burton's other films, so I highly doubt that this film will be an exception. Burton's musicals (Nightmare Before Christmas, for example) and Disney's musicals (LION KING) are both sensational, so it being a musical actually makes it sound better to me.
If I don't end up watching it tonight, I shall watch it tomorrow.

Lol, I know that, and I suppose NBC wasn't really a 'Burton musical' as he didn't write/perform any of the songs, but I guess you get the jist of what I mean. I hope.

I Tolerate the film.... Only because in every stage version the leads have been very operatic and powerful and as such could manipulate their voices to deliver comedic lines like "The Worst Pies In London" very funny song but most of that is lost in carters monotone tweety bird pitched warble.

Don't have a problem with sweeney as Depp managed to get out the spoken parts of the songs... It's Lovatt I had the problem with, she's a strong manipulative character and as such her voice should reflect that subvertive power.... Carter didn't get that accross

I liked it, although I wouldn't call it horror really, but i enjoyed it.
I thought Carter was good as Mrs Lovett, but to be fair the film was the first I'd seen of Sweeney Todd so I guess i'm not really allowed to give an opinion on that :S
