I actually agree with Adziu here, The animation effects and such aren't anywhere near as impressive as I would have expected, especially from a well known and high budgeted series like Haruhi,

The lighting was off in places, and there wasn't as much overall detail in the episode,

I'm currently watching Negima. I read Love Hina and found out that it was made by the same guy

Ergo Proxy is a superb series. It starts out seeming a bit impenetrable, but you soon get into it. Later on it throws in some very big, quirky suprises, but it's certainly one of the best sci-fi animes I've seen.
