Free hugs?!

Okay, I know it was my first expo and all but.... Every other person I came across has a sign which said 'Free Hugs' I mean I'm not complaining, some of the hugs were quite cool, but is this something I should expect at future Expo's?
In which case...

One or two free huggers are all right, but with some of them it's like... kinda creepy. Especially the guy who just came over and hugged my friend and she told him to get off and he wouldn't let go. Then he was just running up and hugging everyone and we were just like uhh... personal space, please?

or make your own sign and let people come to you. thats what i did lol. i think i got like 8 hugs in the space of 2 minutes.. llol. ah dear.. that was my achievment.. lol. some people got like 5 hugs in 10 seconds.. i was like "i want to be them!"

its something you should expect lol.

I avoided free huggers all day, because I was terrified of my cosplay getting ruined. It was my dream cosplay, so I was desperately trying to avoid being glomped/hugged (unless hugging friends or something). Then some idiot jumped me from behind and would not let go of me. I told him a few times sternly to let go and he just wouldn't listen. That ruined the day a little bit for me... Ever heard of the concept of personal space? I'd rather somebody asked me before jumping me for a hug, ta.

I like free hugs, but only if they give you a choice. Surpise hugs are also okay, but only if you know the person, or you know they're okay with it.

I got glomped once when I was in my Warrior cosplay, the glomper almost got scewered on my shoulder spikes

At other expos there are alot more free hugs signs, they're pretty common

Yeeah.. Hugs are cool. i like hugs.. lol.

i think i only hugged the same person twice.. and it was like.. in a space of like ..2 hours.. lol.

And Yeaah. Its good to see who you're hugging. like.. if they tap your shoulder and then hug you its fine.. but if they just jump on your and stuff .. its like.. Ahh!

and its very hard to hug someone back if they hug you from behind and you are as tall as i am lol.

Yeah I got like the same people about...5-10 times each ^_^ I was the guy in the brainiac shirt and uruhara's hat btw, first expo, first free hugging...very fun! XD I didn't do any suprise hugs or air hugs, just held the sign saying "free hugs" and hugged anyone that came to me

It wasn't as bad as it is in London xD There were a few creepy ones, I know I got jumped on from behind by someone who then screamed in my ear "FREE HUUGS!" He cracked one of my horns, which distressed me >(

But most of them respected your personal space, which was a big step up xD
