Glompers and free huggers

being in a fragile costume on Sat (LeBlanc isn't exactly hug-friendly) I had to turn people own for hugs, explaining that my costume was not hug proof. for the most part they understood, some tried to hug me anyway (guys, no srsly means NO) and some gave me the kind of look you'd give someone that had just spat on their grandmother.

Free-huggers should be stopped, it's becoming an epidemic, I'm seeing so many costumes destroyed or damaged through little kids who dont understand that some costumes are fragile.

Also when did BO and general bad hygiene become mandatory for free huggers??

Its like as soon as there are some breasts out the free huggers come flocking! I had too many sweaty not-cosplaying scary blokes wanting to hug me in my I-No and I simply said NO.

And regarding Free rape or whatever: My request to Admin and the Expo Organisers is this: APPOINT PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REMOVE INAPPROPRIATE FREE HUGS SIGNS (IE, FREE RAPE OR WHATEVER) AS IT IS A FAMILY EVENT! I WOULD BE HAPPY TO DO THIS D:<

I don't mind free hugs if they ask nicely (I was only approached ONCE Saturday; by a Dante with a 'FREE DEVIL HUGS' sign, which I found too LOLsome to pass up! :p) And I wasn't glomped once, so i was lucky, but I really don't like those people who run around shouting about it! People who don't want free hugs also don't want their ears violated by their 'free racket' either. It's darn unnecessary. And all I have read about the signs saying 'free rape/yaoi for pocky' etc, that's just the last straw. Something should definatly be done about it. It's a family event and these people are just asking for trouble!

yeah..he's pretty weird...and creeps me out, he makes himself sound like a extreme pedophile too, i mean, no one just goes around saying free hugs in a booming voice like that...or asks where people live...i didn't see him at the con..and im pretty glad i didn't *not trying to be rude or anythin*

i raged at this video though, it just makes free huggers look even worse when most of them are pretty nice.

To be fair, there was one girl on Sunday (standing near where the video displays were) that gave me a really nice, genuine-feeling hug, and the ones from the One Piece cosplayers were nice, too. I guess that's an advantage of having big furry arms and standing around in the cold :p

I don't mind free hugs that much; but there is a point you can take it too far, I think. If you're just standing there with a sign (as this girl on Sunday was) and waiting for peope to come to you then that's fine. If you're walking around and passing your own free hugs onto people without their permission, then that's not so good. Most people asked me first, so I really didn't have any problems for the majority of the time.

There were a couple of people I passed that were running around quite aggressively just shouting 'Free hugs, come on, give me some hugs!' and stuff, which I didn't like.

Mayhaps we could put them in their own section of the Expo so they can all hug each other instead?

Luckily, we only had one glomping incident that caused me to cringe. Was escorting our bug back to our apartment, when a girl glomps him at the top of the steps. Luckily, he had clocked her coming and was able to brace himself in time, otherwise, it may have been a squished bug at the bottom of the steps.

Not so much about the free huggers glompers (I was fairly lucky this weekend, asI was wandering around most of the time with a guy who's 6'3" and really intimidating. And when you say no, he backs you up.) so I was relatively freehug less.

HOWEVER.

Am I the ONLY one who wanted to take the yaoi paddles from people and hit them over the head with them? I got hit up the back of the legs with one. WHICH HURTS. And I also got ran into at least three times by people trying to escape peoplew tih yaoi paddles.
I'm sorry, but they're used to cause violence (in whatever playful manner) the Expo take weapons away from cosplayers for safety, why are yaoi paddles any different?

I only got caught for one moment, as I was stumbling past the green outside on Sunday and ended up with five paddles in the space of about one minute.

Paddling the presenter was funny though o.o LoL , that presenter guy is awesome however. He gets annoying when he wont give up with getting the audience to scream but he is very funny.

I looked up, and I just saw some guy who looked all samurai-esque standing over me with a sword in my belly. I had got used to it during the day, but that was one of the epic moments.

some guy glomped me in my Cpt Falcon outfit. Usually they don't phase me and bounce right off me but one got me and my gun holster ripped off. I stared at him and he gave me a £1.... I was not impressed.

at the start I wasn't letting people hug me, and then I just gave up.
