Erm, Ive read through all the posts here and Im still kinda unsure about something.

Im only young and Ive been put in charge of the whole skit. I sent in the form and got comformation about being able to do it, but my twin lives all the way up in Leeds and I live in London.
And as soon as we had to get everything sorted her internet crashed, not a thing from it.
We would REALLY like to have a proper act, not just music, but the only way we can do this is to record it the night before and bring it on the day (we're doing it on the saturday).
I can see why this is a big problem if everyone does it but I, no WE, are begging you to let us bring it in.
Its only my second expo, and we've spent ages on our cheshire cat costumes, and I think we would love you for all eternity if you let us.

So please? :?

I'm afraid we really can't make any promises if you bring your skit audio in on the day so I would encourage you to do everything you can to get it done before Expo. We can accept audio files right up to Wednesday the 20th.

We don't have the time or resources on the day to properly check that your skit would play properly and that things like sound levels are sufficient for it to be clear and audible when amplified on stage.

If you really do have no alternative then drop us an email at cosplay@mcmexpo.net and we can discuss what you would need to do to ensure your recording is acceptable.

Hmm, my friend will be here the night before the expo, so... Im trying to see a way around this...
I really dont want to make things harder for you yet I want our skit to be as good as possible :/
I can put the audio on either a CD or a memory card and hand it to you on the day. Also we'll be there at about 7 (we need to pick up a couple things) so if possible we could drop it off before it opens?
I can make the sound mp3, wav, whatevers best for it ^-^

Hey, my younger sister got an online place for the masquerade, but recently she has had a change of plans. Is it possible for her to keep her place but change the character she was signed up as? ^^'

Random question here: on my form I put down that I was going to do a performance, but I was wondering if dramatic posing counts as performance? ^^;
What I had in mind was a bit more than just a walk-on walk-off skit, but not a full solo skit. If that makes any sense. >.>
Sorry if that sounds confusing!

Sounds like a walk on to me.
If you just coming on stage, doing some poses and then walking off again it's a walk on, more than that and it's a skit.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

Should I send an email to change to not being a performance? :)

ooh freyarule brings up a good point...
what would mine go under? I plan to come on stage and using some vocal sound bites with my posses... would that be a performance, acting out some maniacal laughter then changing pose, that sort of thing

No problem, you still have the best part of two weeks to get things to us :)
As long as we have everything by the 20th it's good (although obviously the earlier the better)

I'm in the same boat :(.... well actually it's more of the fact the MP3s don't seem to exsist, darn obscure videogame background music -shakes fist-

that shouldn't be to hard to do, I'm just waiting on the OVA of my costumes game so I can get the reference pics (the game itself seems to hate art involving his lower half), so if the cut off date isn't till the 20th the torrent should be finished.....errr I mean the legally purchased DVD should have been delivered -awkward laugh- <_< >_>

Do we have to fit progress shots to A4 like the reference? Or can they be single files? As I tend to take shots of each stage of making my outfit there's quite a few and I'm sure those with more elaborate & difficult costumes will find it hard to fit enough good images to A4 also ^^'

For our purposes - ie. checking that costumes are hand made etc we only need pictures formatted to a side or two of A4.

The Judges also love to see progress pictures though, there very handy for them and they are a great way for you to showcase the care and attention that has gone into making your costume. If you have loads of progress pictures that you want to use I would suggest printing them yourself and bringing them along to show the judges.

We would love to be able to deal with more than an A4 sheet of progress pictures for you but with the surge in numbers this May I suspect we may be buried under reference and progress pictures already

Don't worry, I should be having quite a few progress pics :D There are some photos I've taken that I don't think I'll even use, hah! :D

Ooh just a thought, because my costume's an original concept, (as in my own design) do I have to say anything about it afterwards?
