Bloomin' heck- at 01:30 this morning there were already 70 entries ^_^;

I have sent an email to everyone who appears to have registered- these are not to confirm your place but just to give you piece of mind that we received your entry. I got an delivery failre back from an email beginning silverfableassassin and one beginning daleksrulecybermendrool so please - if you are reading this a) rest assured and b) email cosplay@mcmexpo.net so we can fix our email listing.

If you registered by 01:30 am on 26/04/09 and have not received an email from me, then you may want to email us: cosplay@mcmexpo.net and of course don't forget to check if your spam filter has blocked it!

It looks... like Saturday is already full, and Sunday is close.

I'll take that as a compliment, but yikes people!

That'd be me! (SilverFableAssassin) but I got my reassuring email. So... I'm confused about why there was a delivery failure. o.o
Also - yes there were meant to be 2 emails. One of Saturday entry and one for Sunday entry!

Good luck getting through all the emails!

They're coming out of the walls *hides*

Okay- I think we may be full o_O there's a little work to do to check, but the variety is amazing this time. Good stuff people!

Everyone that had registered by 10:20 am this morning should have an email to note we have received your submission.

Cheers!

Yeah, basically some emails seem to be too long for the form, so if I have .co at the end I try either .co.uk or .com

If I send two, I try both ^_^;

Sad thing is- we're still getting more spam than genuine emails! Not barely either - like for every 10 real emails, about 30 spam.

Right- I've sent a 'we've got your submission' message to everyone that had registered successfully by 11:30.
If you don't have that email, we probably don't have your submission. If you registered by 11:30 am on 26/04/09 and have not received an email from me, then you may want to email us: cosplay@mcmexpo.net and of course don't forget to check if your spam filter has blocked it!

I'm going to put the laptop down now far a bit...

I think the fact that Euro Cosplay is on for October 2010, plus the announcements here and on email and people remembering from last year how places went so fast means this time... yeah. Bit frantic!

Oh my god, I'm so glad I woke up in the middle of the night and submitted the form at 1 something in the morning rather than waiting!!! (I guess I was so nervous...) :shock:

Now I'm still nervous about whether I get a place...shall I send progress pics and references now? Or wait until I have a place?

Feel free to send in supporting materials as soon as you like. Even if you're on the waiting list, it will mean that we have it should a place free up or you get an on the day space.

On the day sign ups work just the same- the first people to sign up at the cosplay desk once the doors open get the places. Same rules.

Roughly how long do you allow for single-person performances? I think I read 1:30 somwehere, but that seems to have disappeared...

If it helps, I'm doing a somewhat modified version of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqrhETU4GR8 (sorry about poor quality, Firefly watchers are mostly law abiding citizens after all, and this was the only video I could find).

I just need to know roughly before I begin editing audio.

For single person performances, we use our discretion. Last year we stated 1 minute 30 seconds but we felt this was a little inflexible, use that as a guide and we'll make suggestions if we feel the length is inappropriate.

Eeek! I forgot to send a progress...
The progress picture I currently have is just the dress though, is that alright? /Sewing everything, so it's all in pieces.

Pictures, music, etc can be sent in later but we recommend people send them in even if they are on the waiting list. That way we can do the same preparation and quality checking as we do for the confirmed entries, so any issues can be cleared up ready in case a place gets freed up or you get an on the day space.

Progress pictures are optional unless we ask for them, which will only happen for costumes that are commonly sold on ebay or that we are concerned may be made largely from bought parts eg a suit.

Ilpala and I have just been looking through things, and it is both good AND bad news that the quality of submissions looks above what we are used to. Great as this is the sign of a healthy cosplay making community, bad as we honestly regret having to tell anyone that we can't confirm their place.

Confirmation, random checks, and waiting list notifiers have been sent. Tomorrow we'll start checking picture, music, group, and performance emails!

Thanks for your overwhelming interest in the Masquerade- its great to see that we have such a healthy and thriving costume making community, but its absolutely gutting that we can't accomodate everyone.

As you (hopefully) know Ilpala and I volunteer so we can make the event as enjoyable for cosplayers as possible, and we thanks you for your patience and understanding while we do what we can to reduce the waiting list. Trust me- this is the hardest part- even worse than dealing with the stampede at the Cosplay Desk when the Expo opens!

with the mighty power of photoshop, i'm sure i can make things small enough ;p

music edits will be in mp3, so nice and small too.

another question, however... do i need to submit the stuff as seperate emails, one for each entry, or just shoot the whole batch in one mail?
