I wudn't mind a manchester one I mean sheffield is alot closer for me

but i don't mind the travel- i managed the 3-4 hour journey down to london i can travel to manchester

Surprised this hasn't been brought up yet (or did I miss something?), but, uh, come to London? Please?

I know we have London Expo, so if you're giving Telford/Telford area a miss I guess it's only fair, but it seems silly given so many people live in London and frequently attend meets anyway.

Well considering that Wolsey Hall the first meet is only about 20 minutes or so on the train from a main London station I am sure people could make that venue from London, Herts and Essex

All the places I have seen mentioned by staff are pretty close to where the expo is anyway, would be great if you could do something up North in Newcastle area. There is plenty of good places up here that would work. Hope this can happen

Just to let everyone know (especially admins ), interest with my AniMedia East group is starting to pick up, and the moment I posted this there were 26 signatures on the petition - http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/29479.html - and I'm expecting quite a few more from S.A.M (Society for Anime & Manga - which are a group of currently approximately 25 regulars at the Forum in Norwich). The organiser of the Tokyopop Recon in the Waterstone's store at Castle Meadow knows about it as well, as do the UEA Anime Society. So there are three other groups in the know who are interested (hopefully they'll all sign the petition, but I know they're interested anyway - I've been told people are already talking about the idea quite a bit).

I've got details of London MCM Expo on the site, which includes the YouTube May 2009 trailer as well.

I've yet to approach City College Norwich, but that will be done soon enough. ^_^'

i might come along to this, it's fairly nearby for me. will it have stalls selling stuff or is it cosplay only?

I think you need one further up north like near Sheffield or Leeds. We have nothing in the way expos or even cons in this area It'd be nice to not have to travel miles on a train to get to a cosplay event.

I'd love to see the Cosplay roadshow to hit the North-West area in Manchester or Liverpool.
Not because I live there, but because travel to those areas are very well supplied by the north-west train service and relativley cheap too.
It would be really easy to grab peoples interest for these areas, as I myself found it difficult and very expensive to travel all the way to London, or even the Midlands expo. So I really hope we can get interest on this one, and I'll be looking around to find people to support it

I'd love to see it in my University town...Lincoln the student union is a nice big hall, as well as there being several venues throughout town. And of course there are the societies...Anime and a Sci Fi one, they'd love to have cosplay come to them for a change

I still think sheffield- after all teh station there recieves trains from all over england

After all its how alot of us cosplayers up north get to london

1- sheffield- near me
2 Manchester- have family there
3- brighton- family there
4- london- you already have the expo but mum uses teh expo as an excuse to visit friends in london

I'm either not reading the information properly and missed some bits out, or it's too late [just wrote tired instead...] for my brain to function and I'm not understanding the information properly haha...

Is this Cosplay Roadshow going to be literally like a mini Expo where it's being held all day or will it be similar to the Tokyo ReCons where it's held for around 2-3hrs in the evening?

P.S. Come to Somerset ;P Bristol and Exeter will be okay but I'd prefer Taunton for I am heavily biased

seconded, theres a big group of ppl round my area that cant afford to travel and stay in london, however getting to canterbury is only a half hour train ride for us
it would be good for people who havent made it to the expos to be able to make it xD

Yep as Surry is a London borough

Surrey Is not a london borough!!! It's a whole county of it's own, underneat London and above Sussex, I should know I grew up there! although Parts of surrey are so close to london they are served by london services (i.e. coulsdon)

anyway...

Brighton would be great (not just because I live there - honest!) but it's really easy to get to and there are loads of hotels etc and it would make a nice change in scenery!
