Why not try organizing something for the meet ? Like a picnic or something similar to give people an activity to do rather than just turning up and being like "ohai, I'm gay"

Surely the whole point of a meet up is to meet other people who are interested in the same thing as you... so yes, you will be different to the people not invited the the meet... mainly due to the fact that THAT'S THE WHOLE BLOODY POINT.
