The Last Airbender isn't out for months.

If you're thinking of James Cameron's Avatar, that's something totally different.

In fact, I may edit the thread title to avoid other people making the same mistake.

Would like a better trailer now though plez <3

Also, Tom, why? If the mistake is made, then other people can rectify said mistake. Is not our fault James Cameron is a twonk and copyrighted the name. To Avatar fans, it will always the The Avatar Movie.

Trailer was meant to come out a couple of weeks ago, but they did not finish adding all the CGI they wanted in the trailer so they pushed it back to February.

I used to keep calling the movie 'Avatar' but my friends kept confusing it with James Cameron's 'Avatar' , so I've stuck to Last Airbender now

Huge avatard here seriously hoping they don't ruin the charm of the tv series with this movie ;_; Smiling Aang makes me happy, but I still worry.

Also, does anyone know how they're going to approach it story wise? Will it be based on the series, or have an alternate storyline? And did the people who wrote the tv series help with writing the film?

New trailer for The Last Airbender. Music is epic but it looks a little sloppy, or maybe that's because there were too many close-ups. I have mixed feelings over this movie, but I guess I can't say anything until I've seen it.

I think it’s quite beautiful…and it’s great to see some scenes from the cartoon directly recreated.

There are things in the trailer that are starting to make me come around on the idea of an Avatar movie, the costumes are good, i think the casting looks good (I really like the guy playing Zuko and I like that they found martial artists not just actors), I like that some scenes look like they are taken directly from the cartoon (not anime!!) like the iceberg at the beginning, katara and sokka with the lanterns, etc.
I'm still really sceptical though, I'll take a lot of convincing!

The new trailers worry me. There isn't any lighthearted humor, it's all "epic serious" stuff.

It seems like the first movie will be based off Book 1. Meaning 2 more movies.

Yeah, a lot of people are worried that Aang isn't going to get to show his funloving, mischievous side and is just going to be emo for the whole film.

Aang doesnt need to be Emo, that's what Zuko's for!!
I LOVED the episode in Book 3 "Ember Island Players.' Sokka and Aang's lines at the very end of the episode;
"That.... was not a good play..."
'Meh, the effects were deacent," was a dig at the movie (or so they said on the dvd commentary.) Genius.

Ryoko you have earned my respect :o

You seem like a proper Avatard like me and you've highlighted my concerns about the movie as well. I've always said I wouldn't judge the film as a live action of the TV series, more-so as a completely different story (a lesson learned from my high expectations of the Dragonball movie). Especially after I heard the changes to the Avatar names and bending techniques.

But I'm going to watch it nonetheless.

Can't wait for this movie. But yeh... where the hell is Zuko's scar? O__o And apparently they've totally changed Sokka's character which im not impressed about seeing as he's my favourite character.

Oh yeah. He'll be all stoic and angsty. Apparently there is very little humour.

Not too happy with this, but I guess as a film its understandable. If they switch a lot between funny and mega serious, it would confuse and alienate a lot of people. The director only has about 90 mins to work with, and not 3 series.

So the movie has one of the lowest ever ratings on film review aggregate sites. Fans and critics alike hate it. Apparently this is a pretty accurate representation of the scale of the attacks compared with the movements required.

Not sure if I'm even gonna see this in the cinema. And I go to the cinema a lot.
