Bleach: Live Action Movie

Postby sunny1r on Sat Mar 27, 2010 9:57 pm

Warner Brothers (Thank God it's not Fox) have bought the rights and are in the process of putting someone in charge of putting a live action Bleach movie into production. The producer named is peter Segal, who's films are usually in the comedy category. A director has not yet been named. While this has every reason to fail like other anime - live-action films, I am very confident that this will survive as a great adaptation. Why? Well as you all probably saw Dragonball was that they took Goku and put him in a school whho got bullied but found out he had awesome powers and became a hero etc. Well this is pretty much what happens to Ichigo. He is bullied but he's not a loser plus he's 16! So he already fits the target age for this movie! unless they make him which case I will wonder what went wrong.

I'm neither happy or sad for this.

The Bleach Rock Musicals were good though.

Please no. To this day, I have not seen one good live action anime adaptation (although saying that, I haven't seen many in total). I love Bleach, and will be very protective over people changing the bleeding story to make it a general audience film.

If they do turn Ichigo into a "tortured teen", I will get very annoyed. It is such a cliche, over-used background scenario to do with a character. Also, Bleach is so long, what are they going to do? I can imagine they're going to focus more on the first series, with Ichigo gaining his powers, possibly ending in the Grand Fisher fight, or when Rukia gets escorted back to Soul Society (in a 'cliffhanger' for a second movie).

Ahh... but no. I really hope they aren't going to do this. I thought the Death Note ones were terrible, and they were much better than others I've seen!

I've personally not much interest in Bleach, so even if this does fail as it almost inevitably will do, I wouldn't care all that much.

Still, if it looks alright when the trailers are released of course I'll still give it a shot. Thanks for the news.
