Sucker Punch is a British film unlike any other in that it is not a costume drama, not a rom-com with a token American star and most definitely not a gangster movie. No, Sucker Punch is quite simply a no-nonsense action comedy that delivers on both fronts.
‘Sucker Punch’ was born out of the frustration felt by Malcolm Martin and Gordon Alexander when trying to find finance for their first script ‘The Longshot’.
Favourably received and good enough to secure them an agent, the script also secured them a number of high profile meetings and free lunches at some very nice restaurants but always with the same end result-‘call us in a fortnight, a month, six weeks…’ and then when they called in a fortnight, a month, six weeks it was another round of ‘call in a fortnight, a month…!
That’s why they’re called independent movies because if you waited for the industry break you have to be very, very patient and both Gordon and Malcolm were tired of playing patience.

A veteran of stage and screen, Danny brings his dancer’s grace, his actor’s timing and his wonderful voice to ‘Sucker Punch’ as the loveable loser Harley.
Lisa Nash - 'Melanie' (Saturday)
With a background in drama, modern tap and ballet, Lisa has worked successfully across film, television and theatre, including ‘Thick as Thieves’ and ‘The favourite Man’.
She has also been a live presenter for television and radio shows.
Sucker Punch obtained her services at just the right time, as she has been constantly busy since completing principal photography.

Leon is the face of Karate for this generation!
Leon has won a World title.
Charismatic and photogenic, Leon is as much in demand off of the mats as he is dynamic on them and now he is turning his attention to the world of film.
