Yes I believe so and I think he was annoyed at the shouting as well. I actually said to him "Is he actually allowed to do that with children about?" and he just shrugged and said no one had said he couldn't and how he was just trying to block him out or something. Then the yaoi guy started shouting "INCEST" so I shuddered and said "Incest yuck" and promptly walked away from the stall.

The stuff he was shouting out was inappropriate. Selling it is one thing but the stuff they yelled out infront of kids was out of order and i KNOW they sold to under 18's.

I do remember United Publications getting rapped on the knuckles for selling hentai at expo not so long ago... I have no problem it being sold as long as its managed appropriately. After all, I bought a pillow case from the hetai stall and got Yaoi padelled...

Honestly, I had thought of going over to have a look at the hentai section next to it, but that guy's yelling put me off - I had a bit of a headache already, and seriously, who yells that kind of thing with kids under ten around?

well considering there a more screaming fan girls around its more than likely he'd get more business by yelling yaoi instead of yuri, although I do believe he yelled about Hentai over all a bit later on?

Or if anyone has hard evidence of him selling to under 18s then that should be all they need... he can be heavily fined and even be taken to court for such things... It is the law. (At least i think it is... i assume its the same for real porn?)

Yes, it's no different to selling real porn to minors.

Yet it's hard to catch them out because you need to have had someone recording him do it at the Expo.

Hopefully people who recorded would've caught him.

I generally stayed away from the Yaoi stall, just because I'm not comfortable with the concept of yaoi.
Hentai as a base is rather estranged, and when it is combined with a sexuality that I can relate to, it gets rather creepy.
So I pretended it didn't exist, and looked at the shiny, big swords instead. :3

But seriously, I don't think that was the environment that I could imagine hentai being marketed in. Children were going around there, and so were girls and boys of more influencial ages. If say, a twelve year old, were to have Yaoi or Yuri thrusted madly in to their face, then how would they know better than to look at it?

I notice that Admin haven't commented on this thread. I would like to know if they plan to do anything to safe-guard minors to being exposed to restricted content next year.

Even if it was something minimal like a 'Over 18s' section, segregated from the rest of the Expo with an indescript curtain or boundary.
One volunteer is all it takes to make sure everyone gets in to a que and shows IDs before they go past, just like what they did for Dead Space.

That guy really annoyed me. I hope he's not allowed to attend future events. Personally, hentai's not for me, but I understand and respect that some people do like a bit of it now and then - however to have that guy screaming out some of the things he was in a family event was simply unacceptable.

I hope the staff at the expo recognise this thread as an official complaint.

Exactly I think that's a really good idea. I volunteer for a company that put on gigs for the local community. Our venue hosts a bar and so we ID everyone who comes in the door and make sure the over 18's have special wristbands. We're in contact with our local police department also. It just keeps everyone safe so they can enjoy themselves and the parents feel secure we're looking after their kids whilst they're at our events.

I managed to fool a unknowing friend into thinking that Yaoi was a form of hardcore Hentai. The photo of him standing by the stool and being the only male is classic.

I didn't hang around the Hentai/Yaoi too much so I don't really know what he was shouting but if what he was shouting was explicit then yeah that's not on. Otherwise shout all you want to sell a product I see it down Walthamstow market everyday anyway!

As everyone else said it may have been funny once but he done my head in so much, pretty much every video I have inside there you can hear him shouting, from right at the other end of the hall, and I also heard him saying the vulgur stuff.

It made me feel wrong just to walk past that stall I did not want to be anywhere near him.

Yaoi IS a form of hardcore hentai... I don't care about the umbrella term, shonen-ai is kissing and mild stuff, yaoi is EXPLICIT!

excactly I like yaoi but he was just being sooo rude! I like hentai as well so I just went to that stand and ignored the yaoi person completly.

He shouldn't have been doing what he did. A friend and I were drawn to his stand due to the big shiney sign that said Yaoi behind him but I was immediatly put off by the man himself. He was unnessarily rude and very loud...understandable that it was yaoi and hentai he was advertising and he did have a product to sell but there were children around, very young children too as others had mentioned and I'm sorry but I didn't find him funny at all. There was no need to shout out what he did. I was very surprised at there being a Hentai/Yaoi stand at the Expo at all.

I went to his stall a few times just to peek around, but the prices kinda pushed me back!!.

Personally, I thought it was funny the first few times, when it wasn't so explicit!, but when he started going on about brothers and digimon and all that ., I was kinda stunned. I mean, like has been said on this thread, half the people around his stall....okay, 90% of the people around his stall were all under 18 girls all fawning over captasticly overpriced stuff. I found the TokyoPop stall over in the other side much and it had my last few versions of FAKE that I needed .

We should all buy paddles .... beat him with em, then get our cash back ^_^
