Para Para at the party?

Postby Raymatt Havoc on Sun Nov 30, 2008 11:01 pm

I think it would be quite a good addition to the cosplay party as it is a jump up and get involved kind of dance :)

Discuss.

Aren't there a number of different Para ara routines, for different songs? I'm all for it, a group dance would be great, but a certain dance and song would have to be decided on beforehand... correct me if I'm wrong though!

I have no idea what it is, but as for songs people can dance to there's always the macarena etc. which requires no decision making and no dance learning XD

This could be fun. But how would it work out? I think only a minority of us know what para para is, and out of that an even smaller minority actually do it regularly.

But if classic para para tunes were to be played i'd Para along to it. ^o^ I get the image of a small para para mosh pit forming XD.

errm if this worked out id say that you do it in a corner or perhaps very front, back as to not obstruct the dance floor.
I personally love para, some Made of fire and some easy busy for the lolz.
Must have night of fire.

Wikipedia wrote:
Para Para (Japanese: パラパラ; also "Para-Para" or "ParaPara") is a popular Japanese synchronised group dance. Unlike most club dancing and rave dancing, there are specific, preset movements for each song, and everyone does the same moves at once, much like line dancing. Para Para is said to have existed since the early 80's, when Europe started selling Italo Disco, Euro Disco, and later New Wave music in Japan (New Wave came about in the mid-80's), but did not achieve much popularity outside of Japan until the late 90's, when the popularity boom of para para took place. Today, it is known throughout the world, especially the Pacific Rim.

It's also an arcade game where the aim is to meet the sensors as the arrows indicate. Think of it as "DDR but with hands and dance routines".

I love the idea! I think maybe a little stage or dance floor cordoned off for people to do it because I know trying to do it at a normal disco would mean taking down a lot of surrounding people with all the waving arms ^^' I think some of the popular anime ones would be great to have as well as classics from PPP. I think good additions would be:

Zankoku no tenshi no te-ze-- The Parapara version of Evangelion theme... Everyone loves Evangelion ^^'
You Get to Burning- The Parapara version of the Nadesico theme... People know it from DDR and the show
Romeo & Juliet- Lolita (because it's simple-ish)
Luv to Me- Tiger Yamato (because people will likely know the song from DDR as well)
Dynamite Rave- Naoki- again people will know it from DDR
Night of Fire- Because it's a good dance and addictive

And maybe Pegasus Fantasy (which is the Saint Seiya theme), Let Me Be With You (the Chobits theme), Can't Stop Falling In Love, Hold on Me (this is quite simple so I think it's great for people to try and copy), and maybe one or two by DOMINO.

I hope this helps!
Possible cosplay for May

LeBlanc FF X-2

Hmm, can we count that as a Para Para though?

-thinks about it for a bit-

I'm not sure. What do others think? It doesn't really have any typical parapara moves in the routine.

Edit: I'm sure everyone, their mother and their dog at least knows about the Hare Hare Yukai! xP

The Hare Hare Yukai is generally the kind of synchronised group dances you'd see in your typical music video for a J-Pop girls group. For example, Morning Musume.

It's fun, fo sho, but not Para Para. And never will be. BUHAHAHU.
We must have sharp arm choreography and a two step xD

Sorry, can someone just clear something up for me? (is having a dumb day xD)

With these songs you're listing... how does the dancing work? Like is there an actual official para para dance to all those songs that you all happen to know?

THIS IS PARAPARA: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Hcsqfu50Q ... annel_page Gotta love LOVE & JOY!!

Although I suggest to start with Night of Fire- its a parapara classic!

And search our EPO deviantart page (EPOLondon we are called on there) unless they are dead, we have links to various songs that are on the Para para paradise machine and some that are not too!)
