Comic Book artists and writers suggestions.

Postby Leopard-Lad on Sun Dec 20, 2009 12:54 pm

I can't be the only comic book fan on this forum. The comic village has been great in the past few years with greats like Warren Ellis, Kev Walker, Jon Mcrea, Liam Sharp, David Lafuente, Andy Diggle and more. I want this to continue as this one of the few comic related expos in London I'm aware of. So use this thread to suggest any writers or artists you think should be invited.

I will get the ball rolling: Barry Kitson, Takeshi Miyazwa, JM DeMatteis, Mike Deodato JR, Paul Jenkins, Matt Fraction, Ed Brubaker, David Hine, Jamie Mckelvie, Kieron Gillen, Luke Ross, Paul Cornell, Sean Phillips. Not expecting all of these by any means but any of these guys would be fantastic.

hi, guys!

Thanks SO much for making this thread...it means a lot to see people are liking the ComicVillage, and we'll be doing all we can to make it bigger and better for you. It's great fun being able to provide a space where all creators from all levels and genres can exhibit together and mingle with readers. ^_^

The more support we get, the more we can throw at the area, so your feedback means a lot! We know there must be more comic fans out there who don't know about the Expo, so here's hoping we can drag more of them in! Spread the word :)

Thanks for the suggestions, guys - keep 'em coming. You'll be glad to know that I can already check off a couple on those lists for May...we hope to be able to update the CV page and get the creator lists up soon. Sorry for the wait and thank you for your patience!

Ems^_^

They got the comic guest list up now.

Great that Jock, Andy Diggle, Kieron Gillen and Jamie Mckelvie are returning. Really excited that Paul Cornell is coming. Have missed several opportunties to meet him due to university. Thanks very much for organising this Mrs Vieceli.

Hey hey,
you beat me to it! ^_^

We'll be adding more closer to the show, as several creators choose not to get tables, so they get listed later. Keep an eye out!
Thanks for the awesome suggestions, guys - and you're very welcome.
Comics are awesome, as we know, we just need to spread the word!

Phonogram is awesome. Jamie Mckelvie and Kieron Gillen can do no wrong in my eyes.

Also, you should track down Marc Ellerby, Emma Vieceli and Adam Cadwell down at the expo as they all did backup stories for Phonogram the Singles Club. Met Emma at another event recently and she was happy to sign the issue she did work in as she's only signed two or three copies. So if you've not done so already you should go give them some props too.

Ah no. The one year I actually buy an e-ticket which I can't refund in advance and I get the wrong date. I don't normally go to the Expo on Sundays but I'm going to have to make an exception this year. Thank you emsie, you've saved me from some major disapointment.

I'm a comic fan, but not absolutely massive on it and nowhere near as much as I used to be.

Would be cool to see Garth Ennis and Mark Millar there, though.

Emsie quick question. I've looked at the comic village floor plan and I can't see Simon Spurrier, Andy Diggle and Jock. I assume this means they don't have tables. Will they just be doing signings at certain times. Cheers.
