2011 was a huge year for MCM. The MCM London Comic Con shows in May & October seen record attendances, this coupled with the NEW Manchester Comic Con and the return of Memorabilia to London for the first time in 14 years made it our biggest year yet.
Exhibitors included, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros, Nintendo, EA Games, Microsoft, 2K Games, Square Enix, THQ, Manga Entertainment and many more. London hosted the prestigious Eagle Awards the comic book awards in May. The Eagle awards running since 1976 have now made MCM London Comic Con their home. July brought us the first event Manchester Comic Con which was attended by over 7000 people and we are looking forward to returning for 2012. October’s MCM hosted the Cosplay event of the year with the EuroCosplay finals, 38 entries from 24 countries making it the biggest cosplay event in the world. 2011 was England’s turn to shine the European Champion was Neil from England as Skeksil Chamberlin from Dark Crystal.
We were proud to have WB as our title sponsor for the May MCM Comic Con with the Green Lantern. WB Interactive Entertainment sponsored the October show with the huge hit game Batman Arkham city. Memorabilia also stood out in 2011 with Memorabilia London, the show was co-located alongside MCM London Comic Con allowing audiences to experience both shows, not to be outdone Memorabilia Birmingham in November was hailed as the best in years with retailers ecstatic at sales and the increase turnout.
