20 years ago I started helping my husband Paul, yes girls this handsome man is taken, organising the sci fi shows and conventions. As the shows became ever more popular and grew in size I started to take on more responsibilities.
My main role is to look after everything to do with the dealers at our shows. From the initial booking to when everyone has happily gone home I am their main port of call. I love interacting with people at our shows and over the years have made some good friends.
Although it’s a lot of hard work, in 2011 it allowed us to finally leave the big city behind and move to a lovely part of the country. Great schools, friendly people, less crime, green grass and best of all no more pollution.
As a strict vegetarian I try to take care of my body and moving to the country has given me the freedom to breathe again, in more ways than one. I’d even go so far as to say I’d give my right hand for it, although as a leftie I guess that’s cheating a bit.
After 3 boys of my own, not that boys aren’t fun, I was blessed with a grandchild, a baby girl at last. Best of all as a Nanny I get to spoil her rotten and don’t have to worry about diapers or midnight feedings.
Being part of the MCM Group has given me the ability to make some great friends but most importantly spend more time with my family which is what I’m most passionate about.
